Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian's Feud: A Retrospective

The Sparks Fly

The feud between Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian dates back to 2016 when Kardashian released a Snapchat video of a phone call between Swift and Kanye West, Kardashian's then-husband. In the video, West and Swift discuss West's controversial song "Famous," which included lyrics that Swift found offensive. Swift later alleged that West had never cleared those lyrics with her, setting off a public feud between the two singers.

The Fallout

Kardashian subsequently uploaded a series of tweets and Snapchat videos in which she called Swift a "snake" and claimed that Swift had lied about West's phone call. Swift responded by releasing a scathing statement in which she accused Kardashian of "character assassination" and said that she was "tired of being made to feel like the bad guy."

The Aftermath

The feud between Swift and Kardashian continued to simmer in the years that followed. In 2019, Swift released a song titled "Look What You Made Me Do" which was widely seen as a diss track aimed at Kardashian and West. The following year, Kardashian's sister, Khloé Kardashian, reignited the feud by posting a series of tweets critical of Swift.

The Resolution?

In recent years, there have been signs that the feud between Swift and Kardashian may be coming to an end. In 2021, Swift posted a photo of herself wearing a Kardashian-designed SKIMS bodysuit and Kardashian responded by saying that she was "so happy" to see Swift wearing her brand. While it is unclear if the two have fully reconciled, these gestures suggest that they may be willing to put their differences aside.
